Thank you for visiting my scoliosis support site!

Hi! My name is Jennifer, and I live in California. This website is for patients and their families facing scoliosis, and especially those considering surgery. I had my surgery on July 7, 2004, when I was 17, and although I am still sure it was the right thing to do, it was also one of the most difficult things I have ever done.

As we were going through it, I lost count of how many times we said, “No one told us,” or “I wish I had known.” The literature my surgeon gave me was good, but was predictably cold and scientific, completely failing to address the personal/emotional aspects of the experience, or to give me any idea of what to actually expect. I searched the web over and over, but found very little. (Fortunately there's a lot more out there now, as you can see on my Links page.) I created this website as my Senior Exhibition project in high school with the hope that it would help make your experience easier.

If you like what you see here, please spread the word! Most of us know at least one friend or relative with scoliosis. I created this site to help as many people as possible. Use the navigation bar above to look around the site. You can print anything you like, but you should set your printer to horizontal or landscape orientation. (By the way, throughout this site, pop-up lists and other things for you to print may appear very large on your screen because of their high resolution, but they will all print out a normal size. Everything works in the horizontal orientation.)

If you wish, I have a business card with my URL, email address, and screenname. I can email you the file, and you can print it out. My surgeon gives this card to all of his scoliosis patients, and if you know someone who would benefit from this site, or if your surgeon would be willing to help me spread the word, just let me know and I will happily send you the card file. Thank you!

Thank You!!

To everyone who has visited this site, helped to spread the word, or sent me an email, THANK YOU! I have received overwhelming responses from around the world. I cannot tell you how much joy it brings me to see that other people are benefitting from this site. There is nothing easy about scoliosis, but I know that together we can help each other make this road a little smoother.
